Heuer Foundation Distributions Surpass $1 Million

With the distribution of major gifts to 10 Lebanon and West Plains-area organizations, the Heuer Foundation surpassed the $1 million mark in providing assistance to worthy organizations dealing with health scholarships, broad health issues and animals.
Within these general areas, the Foundation seeks to support existing as well as start-up programs that meet needs of disadvantaged youth and their families. Additionally, the Foundation assists programs that increase the quality of life for senior citizens.
Hunger is an ongoing concern in the areas the Heuer Foundation serves. The Foundation's most recent gift to Ozarks Food Harvest will help its Mobile Food Pantry serve OTC students at the West Plains Campus. The Foundation partnered with Ozarks Food Harvest in 2009 to provide similar assistance in the Lebanon area. The Mobile Food Pantry distributes an average of 14,000 pounds of food per drop, serving an average of 185 families or 500 individuals. The Food Bank reaches approximately 80,000 individuals monthly and distributes 12 million pounds of food annually.
